Toonie Delivery is Bud Mart's same-day cannabis delivery service: $1.99 flat, on every order, to every address we serve. No minimum order. No distance tiers. No surge pricing on a Friday night. You see the same $1.99 at checkout whether you order one pre-roll or a full cart, whether you live three blocks from a store or at the edge of the delivery zone. It runs 9 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, across Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, and the Town of Didsbury — dispatched from our nine AGLC-licensed stores, with government photo ID checked at the door every single time.
This page is the canonical definition of the term. You'll see "Toonie Delivery" across budmartcannabis.com — on city pages, product pages, and at checkout. Here's exactly what it means, where it applies, and what it doesn't include.
What Toonie Delivery Is
Toonie Delivery is one thing: a $1.99 flat delivery fee attached to every Bud Mart delivery order. The structure is deliberately simple:
- $1.99 per order, always. The fee doesn't scale with order size, cart value, distance, time of day, or weather.
- No minimum order. A single $6 pre-roll qualifies for delivery the same as a $200 cart.
- Same-day, from a local store. Your order is picked from the shelf of the Bud Mart nearest you and driven over by our own delivery staff — not a third-party courier app.
- Typical arrival: 45–60 minutes in Calgary, Airdrie, and Chestermere. In Didsbury, where the driver starts inside town, 30–45 minutes is typical.
- Fully legal and prepaid. Orders are paid online by credit or debit before dispatch, and the recipient shows valid ID (18+) at the door, as Alberta's retail rules require.
Every product that's on our shelves is available for Toonie Delivery — flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, and beverages — subject to the federal 30-gram dried-equivalent public possession limit, which our checkout calculates automatically across product types (Canada.ca: cannabis laws and regulations).
Why "Toonie"?
The toonie is Canada's two-dollar coin. Our delivery fee is $1.99 — one cent under a toonie. The name is the price promise: if delivery ever costs you more than the coin in your pocket, it isn't Toonie Delivery.
We named it that way on purpose. Most delivery pricing in retail is designed to be hard to predict — base fees plus distance fees plus service fees plus small-order surcharges, all moving targets. Naming our fee after a specific coin locks us into keeping it flat and visible. There's nowhere to hide a markup inside a toonie.
Where Toonie Delivery Is Available
Toonie Delivery covers four communities, each served by local Bud Mart stores. You can see every store address and its hours on our locations page.
| Community | Stores dispatching delivery | Typical delivery window | |---|---|---| | Calgary | 4 stores across the city | 45–60 minutes | | Airdrie | 2 stores | 45–60 minutes | | Chestermere | 1 store | 45–60 minutes | | Town of Didsbury | Didsbury Cannabis store (in town) | 30–45 minutes |
Calgary. Four AGLC-licensed Bud Mart stores cover Calgary's quadrants, so your order is dispatched from the store closest to your address rather than driven across the city. Full neighbourhood coverage, store details, and quadrant-by-quadrant timing are on our Calgary weed delivery page.
Airdrie. Two Airdrie stores serve the whole city, from Coopers Crossing to Kings Heights to Bayside. Details and neighbourhood coverage are on the Airdrie delivery page.
Chestermere. Our Chestermere store delivers throughout the city, including Westmere, Rainbow Falls, and the lake communities. See the Chestermere delivery page.
Town of Didsbury. Delivery in Didsbury is dispatched from our Didsbury Cannabis store, which sits inside the town itself. That's why Didsbury gets the fastest typical window of any community we serve — 30 to 45 minutes — and it's the same $1.99. Details are on the Didsbury delivery page. Note that delivery covers the Town of Didsbury; rural addresses outside town limits aren't currently in the zone.
If your address falls outside these areas, you can still order online for in-store pickup at any of our nine locations.
Delivery Hours
Toonie Delivery runs 9 AM to 10 PM, every day of the week, including weekends and most holidays. A few things to know about the clock:
- Last call is 10 PM. Orders placed before 10 PM are dispatched same-day.
- Orders placed after 10 PM are queued and go out when dispatch opens at 9 AM the next morning.
- Stores stay open until 11 PM for in-store shopping and pickup, so if you miss the delivery cutoff, pickup is still an option for another hour.
- Delivery windows are estimates. Traffic, weather, and order volume — especially during peak evening hours — can stretch a delivery past the typical window. The fee never changes because of it.
How Toonie Delivery Works
The whole process takes about five minutes of your time, and there's no app to download.
- Enter your address on budmartcannabis.com. The site routes you to the menu of the licensed Bud Mart store nearest you, showing live inventory — what you order is what's physically on that store's shelf.
- Build your cart. The checkout automatically tracks the federal 30-gram dried-equivalent limit across categories, so a legal order can't be exceeded even by accident (Canada.ca).
- Prepay online. All delivery orders are paid by credit or debit card before dispatch. We don't accept cash at the door — drivers carry product, not money.
- The store packs your order. Products stay in their original sealed, child-resistant, excise-stamped packaging, then go into a plain, unmarked bag.
- The driver arrives — typically within 45–60 minutes (30–45 in Didsbury). The person receiving the order must be 18 or older and present valid government photo ID: a driver's licence, passport, or Alberta ID card.
- ID is verified, order is handed over. If no one 18+ with valid ID is available, the order returns to the store and we contact you to reschedule. We never leave orders unattended, with neighbours, or with anyone underage.

What Toonie Delivery Is Not
Because "Toonie Delivery" is a defined term, it's worth being explicit about what's excluded from the definition — permanently, by design.
It is not tiered pricing. There's no base-fee-plus-distance formula. An address 1 km from the store and an address 9 km from the store pay the same $1.99.
It is not surge pricing. Friday at 8 PM costs the same as Tuesday at 10 AM. Snowstorms, long weekends, and 4/20 don't change the fee. We staff up for busy periods instead of pricing you out of them.
It is not a "free over $X" scheme. Many retailers waive delivery above a spending threshold and charge heavily below it — a structure built to push your cart size up. We don't do thresholds in either direction: no spend-this-much-to-unlock pricing, and no small-order surcharge. The fee is $1.99 whether your order is $6 or $600. You should buy what you actually want, not what a fee table nudges you toward.
It is not a membership or subscription. There's no club to join, no monthly fee, no points requirement. Every customer gets the same price on day one.
It is not a third-party courier marketplace. Your order isn't relayed through an app that adds service fees, marked-up menu prices, and a separate driver tip prompt on top of a "delivery fee." The store that sells you the product is the store that delivers it, and the all-in delivery cost is the number in the name.
It is not an unlicensed delivery service. Every Toonie Delivery order originates from an AGLC-licensed retail store — you can verify any Alberta retailer's licence in the AGLC licensee directory — and follows Alberta's retail cannabis rules end to end: prepayment, sealed federally compliant packaging, and ID verification at handoff. Unlicensed "delivery services" advertising online skip some or all of that, and the products they carry sit outside the federal system entirely (Department of Justice: cannabis legalization).
ID, Age, and the Rules at the Door
Alberta's legal minimum age for cannabis is 18, and the rules don't relax because a transaction happens on a doorstep instead of at a counter. Here's how compliance works on a Toonie Delivery order:
- Photo ID is checked on every delivery. Not just when the driver is unsure — every time. Acceptable ID: driver's licence, passport, or Alberta ID card.
- The recipient must be 18+. It doesn't have to be the person who placed the order, but whoever accepts it must pass the ID check.
- No unattended drop-offs. We can't leave a package on a porch, in a mailbox, or with a minor under any circumstances.
- Orders stay within possession limits. The federal public possession cap is 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent — our checkout enforces it automatically (Canada.ca: cannabis laws and regulations).
- Packaging stays sealed and discreet. Products arrive in their original child-resistant, excise-stamped packaging inside a plain bag — nothing on the outside identifies the contents.
These rules protect you as much as they protect us. An ID check at the door is the visible proof that you're dealing with a licensed retailer operating inside the legal system, with tested, regulated product.
Why a Flat Fee
A flat $1.99 isn't a promotion — it's the permanent pricing model, and the logic is straightforward. Our stores are local: four in Calgary, two in Airdrie, one in Chestermere, two in Didsbury. Because every order dispatches from a store already near you, our delivery runs are short, which is also why the 45–60 minute window is achievable. Short runs mean we don't need distance pricing to make the math work, so we don't use it.
The second reason is trust. Delivery fees that move around train customers to second-guess every checkout. A named, fixed fee removes that friction: you know the number before you've added a single item to your cart. That predictability is the product. It's the same reason the typical windows on this page — 45–60 minutes in the cities, 30–45 in Didsbury — are stated plainly rather than as a best-case "as fast as" figure.
FAQ
What is Toonie Delivery?
Toonie Delivery is Bud Mart's branded same-day cannabis delivery service: a flat $1.99 delivery fee on every order, with no minimum order, no distance tiers, and no surge pricing. It runs 9 AM to 10 PM daily across Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, and the Town of Didsbury, dispatched from Bud Mart's nine AGLC-licensed stores. The name comes from the Canadian two-dollar coin — the fee is one cent under a toonie.
Is there a minimum order for Toonie Delivery?
No. There is no minimum order amount. A single pre-roll or pack of gummies qualifies for $1.99 delivery exactly the same as a large order. There's also no "free over $X" threshold — the fee is flat in both directions by design.
Where does Bud Mart's Toonie Delivery operate?
Toonie Delivery covers Calgary (from four stores), Airdrie (two stores), Chestermere (one store), and the Town of Didsbury (from the Didsbury Cannabis store located inside town). Addresses outside these communities can order online for in-store pickup at any of Bud Mart's nine Alberta locations.
How long does Toonie Delivery take?
Most orders in Calgary, Airdrie, and Chestermere arrive within 45–60 minutes of checkout. Didsbury orders typically arrive in 30–45 minutes because the driver dispatches from inside the town. Windows are estimates and can stretch during peak evening hours, heavy traffic, or bad weather — the fee stays $1.99 regardless.
What are the delivery hours?
Toonie Delivery runs 9 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. Orders placed before 10 PM go out same-day; orders placed after 10 PM are queued for dispatch at 9 AM the next morning. Bud Mart stores themselves stay open until 11 PM for in-store shopping and pickup.
Do I need ID for cannabis delivery in Alberta?
Yes. The person accepting the order must be 18 or older and show valid government photo ID — a driver's licence, passport, or Alberta ID card — on every delivery, no exceptions. Drivers cannot leave orders unattended or hand them to anyone underage; undeliverable orders return to the store for rescheduling.
Can I pay cash when the driver arrives?
No. All Toonie Delivery orders are prepaid online by credit or debit card before dispatch. Drivers don't carry cash or payment terminals — they carry your sealed order and an ID scanner. The $1.99 fee is included in your online checkout total.
Does the $1.99 fee ever go up during busy times?
No. Toonie Delivery has no surge pricing, no peak-hour fees, no weather surcharges, and no distance-based add-ons. The fee is $1.99 on every order, at every address in the delivery zone, at every hour delivery operates. If conditions are bad enough that we can't deliver safely, we pause delivery rather than raise the price.
